July 1st - 7th  - 10th Borneo International Yachting Challenge
The 10th edition is a "work in progress" between three East Malaysian States - Sarawak, the Federal Territory (F.T.) of Labuan and Sabah, which is organised under the auspices of the Sarawak Yachting Association (SYA). Participating yachts will receive a welcome gift as an added incentive to go all the way to Borneo and help with boat and crew preparation during the event. The yachts taking part will start with the Miri Bay Regatta, Passage Race from Miri to Labuan, the Labuan Harbour Regatta, the Passage Race from Labuan to Kota Kinabalu and finishing with the KK Bay Regatta. ***** July 17th - 21st - 10th Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek
Image Asia will be celebrating the 10th anniversary. This event takes advantage of the good southwest monsoon breezes off Phuket’s south east coast during the 'Green Season' and kicked off last year with new Title Sponsor and Host Venue Cape Panwa Hotel and Kantary Bay Hotel. August 17th start - Darwin to Ambon Yacht Race & Rally
Expressions of interest for the historic Darwin to Ambon Yacht Race/Rally organised by the Dinah Beach Cruising Yacht Association are now open, so get in early as entries close in July. The 600 mile race to the capital of the famous spice islands is destined again to become one of the classic blue water events. Numbers reached 100 before the race was suspended in 1999. Entry fee covers C.A.I.T cruising permit and Ambon clearance charges. After Ambon participants then have the option to continue with the rally to Makassar and Bali or tailor their own sailing holiday through Indonesia and beyond. ***** Starts on 17th October - Biennial Hong Kong to Vietnam Race
The biennial 656nm Category 1 Hong Kong to Vietnam Offshore Race is fast becoming another blue water classic on the Asian Calendar. The yachts will start after the CCR (See above) and usually experience lengthy downwind reaching conditions as they sail deeper into the South China Sea. They can expect large rolling seas to propel them on their way. The secret is out - Sailors that enjoy a lengthy "downhill dash" should not miss this one. Organised by the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club this event has the pleasure of ringing in the New Year. It is also a bold effort to capitalise on the resounding success of previous years and is expected to go on to rival other regattas as one of the best in the region. The racing class contest the Prime Minister's Challenge Trophy and Cruising Class the RLYC Commodore's Cup. Other IRC Classes will compete for the LADA-IRC Challenge Trophy, while the Sports Boat Class will compete for the Langkawi Sports Trophy. January - Feb - 17th Bay Regatta - Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi
Formerly known as the Phang Nga Bay Regatta this regatta appeals to the serious, the not-so-serious and the not-at-all-serious 'racing' sailors will continue to run each year for 4 days in early February through the three provinces now reflected in its new name. Organised by the Ao Chalong Yacht Club in conjunction with a multitude of local sponsors and supporters. The regatta typically attracts 40 to 50 yachts each year, making it one of the biggest and most popular sailing events in Asia. Unlike most other regattas, this event takes the fleet through the spectacular scenery of Phang Nga Bay to a new anchorage each evening, holding awards parties in a wide variety of different locations. Some evening parties take place on beaches, some in high-class resorts or in local village restaurants and the participants expect to sleep on their boats. By popular demand the race to Boracay is on again. The Regatta Organising Authority is the Saturday Afternoon Gentleman Sailors (SAGS) in cooperation with the Subic Bay Yacht Club, Lighthouse Marina Resort and the Government of Aklan, under the auspices of the Philippine Sailing Association. This is a Category 3 race (without life raft). There will be a welcome party in Subic Bay before the start. Following the 200 mile offshore run from Subic Bay, the Boracay Cup gets underway with four days of Windward/leeward and long distance races. Governor from The Province of Aklan has donated the Perpetual Trophy for the combined winner of the Subic to Boracay Race and Boracay Cup will also score points in the AYGP Championship. April - Extreme Sailing Series - Singapore
After successfully hosting the Extreme Sailing Series Act 2 in Singapore, Marina Bay is back as a Host Venue for 2014. This adrenaline-fueled international Series has given sailing a healthy dust-off. Bringing the action to the public, putting guests at the heart of the battle and dramatically increasing the pace on the water. Each day is a mix of corporate sailing races, giving VIP guests and media a chance to get out on the water and experience the Extreme 40 and then the real action of the Extreme Sailing Series racing itself — although there will still be ‘fifth man’ guests on board, expect the sailors to take no prisoners in the fiercely competitive races.
