November 2nd - 4th - All Souls Regatta
Organised by the Puerto Galera Yacht Club, the All Souls Regatta was first held in 2004 and has quickly become the most popular regatta in the Philippines. One of the unique features of the event is that racing is based on a pursuit race format, which adds a change of perspective for most crews as everyone arrives home about the same time and knows who has won, so the party can start early. The courses are set mostly around island marks (there are no windward/leeward courses) and the photographic opportunities are superb. The event also attracts international cruising yachts and local yachts are also available for charter. Paired with the All Souls Dinghy Regatta, takes place over two days (2nd and 3rd Nov). On the water during the three days you can expect IRC racing, Cruising keelboat, Cruising multihulls alongside Hobie 16s, Mirror and Optimist classes competing for daily and overall prizes. One of the features of the All Souls Regatta is that anyone who turns up at the skippers briefing and says they want to sail will be found a crew place on a yacht.
